Job Oppurtunity

Saturday, May 11, 2013 (the Saturday after finals) is commencement day. Our photographers need an assistant who will help them all day (from 8:00 a.m. until after commencement ends, approximately 5:00 p.m.). Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, completing forms for students having portraits taken, assisting in positioning students for photographs during the ceremonies, assisting in set up and break down of equipment, running errands, and other needs as they arise. The student will be expected to dress nicely—jacket and tie preferred, shirt and tie at minimum for men; dress slacks or skirt and blouse for women; comfortable walking shoes for both. Pay will be determined by the company, but is expected to be no less than $100. Interested students should contact Julie Grueneberg: jgrueneberg@semo.edu, or by phone at 651.2528.

BJP’s Ones to Watch in 2013

After asking a panel of photographers, publishers, curators, picture editors and critics to select the photographers they believe will make their mark on the wider international photographic community in 2013, BJP has chosen those to watch out for.

BJP’s editors Simon Bainbridge, Olivier Laurent and Diane Smyth selected, from that list of more than 200 names, 20 photographers to watch in 2013, rejecting those we felt were a little too established, but also keeping in a few that may well be widely known but are still on the verge of something big.
